Next Planet was founded by scientists, farmers, engineers and entrepreneurs passionate about using technology to solve humanity's greatest challenges with fresh food and clean water. Together, have a strong track record of growing innovative businesses. We have raised $50M in funding, have been granted 80 patents and launched over 40 innovative product lines on every continent.

We began developing our technology over our evenings and weekends in 2021 as an entry to NASA and the Canadian Space Agency's Deep Space Food Challenge. After 3 year of competition, we won the Canadian grand prize and founded Next Planet to work full time on the future of food and water. We became revenue generating in 2024, signing multiple contracts with the Canadian Space Agency to provide them with technology and expertise.

We are now working to ensure we have the best, flight tested, oxygen generation, food production and water filtration technology before the first spacecraft destined for Mars is built. We will start selling commercial systems in 2027 and expect to be specified for the first Mars mission in 2030.
